On August 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Legionnaires from American Legion Post 193 of Chapin, SC will lay to rest the cremated remains of five previously unclaimed veterans at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery:
- U.S. Army Veteran SP/4 Nolan Dugas Jr., SP/4Dugas, served in the U.S. Army from June 14, 1972- March 9, 1982
- U.S. Army Veteran SP4 (T) William J. Faircloth, SP4 (T) Faircloth, served in the U.S. Army from April 1, 1969 - February 1, 1971
- U.S. Army Veteran PV2 Everette L. Boice, PV2 Boice, served in the U.S. Army from November 1, 1968-November 1, 1970
- U.S. Army Veteran PVT Scott T. Plonski, PVT Plonski served in the U.S. Army from June 1, 1972- August 1, 1972
- U.S. Air Force Veteran A1C Kathleen (Harlach) Hodge, A1C Hodge served in the U.S. Air Force from July 1, 1983- July 1, 1989
These five veterans honorably and faithfully served their country when they were called upon to do so and they deserve to be buried respectfully with the honor and dignity they have each earned through their service. The American Legion, Patriot Guard, Vietnam Veterans of America, The Veterans of Foreign Wars, and many other Veterans and citizens from across the State of SC will ensure that these Patriots receive the honorable and dignified interment they deserve.
