As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group. Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the  Global War on Terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

Eligibility for VFW membership could be from a campaign medal for overseas service; service in Korea for 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days; hostile fire or imminent danger pay, or other service documented in a DD-214 (or equivalent) or Leave and Earning Statements (LES).  Lake Murray Post 6740 has put together a "PDF" document starting with an eligibility chart of ribbons and badges, followed by a full copy of the Manual of Procedures Section 101 - Eligibility for your convience.  To see that, click here.
