MILITARY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (MAP)

Lake Murray VFW Post 6740 and the VFW Post 6740 Auxiliary started its Military Assistance Program (MAP) by joining with the 117th Engineer Brigade stationed in Newberry, South Carolina.  Commander Sam Kirby and President Andy Machemer, Sr. present the bonding certificate to Col. Bill Matheny.

Through the program's Adopt-A-Unit component, our VFW Post will connect with the military unit and their community before, during, and after their upcoming deployment to offer resources and support through events like family days and picnics.  Lake Murray VFW Post 6740 is open to the entire 117th Engineer Brigade to come for comradery with our Post members!  We hope to establish welcoming relationships with the deployed and their families.
