EVENT SIGN-UP LINKS

This page is dedicated to have ONE location where our Comrades and Auxiliary Members can sign-up to volunteer their time to events we are hosting or participating in!
 
1. Lexington County Veterans Day Parade - 1 Nov 2026, 2:30 p.m. @ 2 hours
    VFW Post 6740 will enter the parade with one HUMVEE and a Jeep Cherokee pulling a decorated
    7 x 14 trailer. We are planning to have 12 chairs available on the decorated trailer for members to sit on,
    while other members can walk along side.  POC is Alan Pierce.
 
2.  117th Engineering Brigade Recruiting Event/Breakfast - 6 Nov 2026, 10 a.m. @ 4 hours
     This will be their first drill weekend since returning from deployment.  Post 6740 will be providing
     breakfast, doing a presentation, and recruiting members.
 
3.  Hometown Heroes at Tractor Supply - 7 Nov 2026, 9 a.m - 3 p.m. (2 shifts @ 3 hours)
     Manning a table to engage the community and honor the veterans of our community.
 
4.  Buddy Poppy Drive - 7 Nov 2026
     Manning tables to engage the community and bring awareness to the VFW and our veterans.  POC is

5.  Old Lexington Baptist Church Veterans Recognition Service - 8 Nov 2026, 11 a.m. @ 1 hour
     Be recognized and celebrated as their veteran neighbors.  Some may be asked to speak on what it means
     to be a Veteran.  Great fellowship and community engagement.
 
6.  Lakeside Nursing Facility Ice Cream Social - 11 Nov 2026, TBD @ 1 hour
     Gathering with their veteran residents, spouses, and distributing small gift bags.
