Mr. Epting passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025. He was born on May 2, 1928 in Leesville, South Carolina to the late Thompson Earl and Carrie Rose Shealy Epting. He was a lifetime member of Wittenberg Lutheran Church where he was member of the Wittenberg Lutheran Men. Marvin was a 50 plus year member of the Batesburg-Leesville Masonic Lodge #138, VFW Post 6740, American Legion Post 0061, Scottish Rites, York Rites, and the Jamil Temple. Marvin also retired as a lab technician with Savannah River Site, and he was a United States World War II Navy veteran.

Surviving are his sons, Robert Epting (Wendy) and Tommy Epting; daughters, Debbie Patterson, Terri Rish (Allen) and Robin Epting; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granchild.

Marvin is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Myrell Epting; brothers, Vivian Epting, Leon Epting, James Epting, and Everette Epting; sister, Nelle Rinehart; and a grandson, Flynn Patterson.
