Mr. Oswald passed away Friday, August 8, 2025.  Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late John Washington and Elizabeth Busbee Oswald. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church, attended St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, was a Veteran of WWII and Korea and served in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army.  "Daddy Earl” was a longtime cattle and hay farmer, continuing his agriculture operation, Oswald Farms, well into his 90s.

Surviving are his family, Rose Marie Hall (Bob) and Diane Spradley; 5 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 31 years, Mary Giresi Oswald, son-in-law, Dr. Elza S. "Sandy” Spradley, Jr., sisters, Eunice Smith and Gertrude Norris, brothers, John Fletcher, Elmer, James, and Clyde Oswald.
